After being shot in the face a few months ago, Ghanaian broadcaster Kofi Adomah Nwanwani has finally spoken out about the terrifying experience he had.
In a video that was uploaded to his Kofi TV YouTube channel on May 22, 2025, Kofi described his road to recovery and thanked everyone who helped him during the difficult time. He emphasized significant contributions from his family and his wife, Miracle Adomah, among the lengthy list of benefactors.
Additionally, he expressed his sincere gratitude to businessman Ibrahim Mahama for his kind gesture, which included offering to take him to treatment in his private jet.
”Today is just to say thank you. But as I’ve stated before, I won’t leave any issue unaddressed. Whatever needs to be done will be done. What I went through felt like the end. I thought I might die. Someone else was shot in the leg at Teshie-Nungua and didn’t survive. Mine was to the face. When you look at the scans, there are still fragments in there. Doctors say I’ll have to live with them for some time”
On December 21, 2024, Kofi Adomah was photographed while reporting on Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II’s 25th anniversary celebration at the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region. During a customary gun salute, a chief’s bodyguard fired a musket at close range, striking him in the eye.
After receiving initial care at Berekum Holy Family Hospital and Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital, he was transported to Dubai for more advanced medical care. He received additional treatment in the UK after experiencing temporary blindness in one eye and complications in the other.
Kofi gave an update on his health, saying that while he still has vision problems, he can see well enough to carry out daily tasks.
”My eyes are not what they used to be, but I can now see someone standing in front of me. I can read messages. If the text is too small, I take a screenshot and zoom in. I’m able to get by, and I’m deeply thankful to God and to Ghanaians for their support”
