In the Tema High Court, Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty Adorye has sued controversial self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa, for defamation.
On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the law firm Osei Aidoh Akpokavie and Co. formally filed the lawsuit on behalf of Empress Gifty, according to court documents that her husband, Hopeson Adorye, shared.
The gospel performer is requesting GH₵20 million in damages for libel and slander, though specifics of the defamation case are still scarce.
She also asks the court to issue a “perpetual injunction restraining the defendant, her servants, agents, privies, and assigns from publishing such words or any similar statements that defame the plaintiff” in her statement of claim.
Empress Gifty also asked the court to mandate that Nana Agradaa remove “all audios and videos containing defamatory remarks about the plaintiff from all her social media platforms.”
