Home News Vehicles, other properties vandalised as KTI and KASS students clash in Kumasi

A conflict between understudies of Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) and Kumasi Anglican Senior Secondary School (KASS), both in the Ashanti Locale, has brought about the obliteration of a few properties, including private vehicles having a place with educators.

Reports recommend that the episode happened last Thursday night when understudies of KTI were getting back from a between school contest and were purportedly gone after by understudies of KASS with stones and cleavers.

This began a reaction attack, with stones being flung, provoking the smashing of windscreens on three private vehicles having a spot with teachers, KTI’s school transport, a notice board, and the school doorway.

In an interview with Joy News, Principal of KTI, Gabriel Kingsford Osei, disclosed:

I pushed my students to the dormitory to prevent any chaos and went to talk to the students of KASS, but they disobeyed me. In the midst of them was a security person with a catapult, leading them to cause destruction.

When I went to the school to speak with the authorities to calm nerves, the KASS students were still throwing stones, which led to retaliation.

In the interim, affirming the occurrence, the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Henry Osei Boateng, uncovered that a security official at KASS sustained wounds during the conflict.

He noticed that while no captures have been made at this point, police presence has been built up to forestall further brutality. He included a media interview that a panel is set to meet with the Understudies’ Representative Council leaders of both schools as part of investigations into the incident.
