Adjoa Tee, a Ghanaian influencer and businesswoman, has taken back her contentious claim that she prefers to date con artists and scammers.
Adjoa Tee addressed the criticism that followed her appearance on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast during an exclusive red carpet interview at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards. She apologized sincerely to Ghanaians and her supporters while wearing a stunning, figure-hugging green gown sprinkled with stars.
”I want to use this opportunity to apologise. I did say that, but with the criticism and backlash, please, I am sorry”.
She continued to reiterate her remorse throughout the exchange, specifically distancing herself from her statment.
I was just trying to say that I do not mind dating someone like that. But I realised that it did not sit well with many people, and I am truly sorry. Just know that from my heart, I am sorry. I am still the same girl you all love
”When asked whether her most recent ex-boyfriend, Big Paradise, was also involved in fraud, Adjoa Tee quickly denied it, saying he was a “promoter and hype man.”
The ethics of dating people who are involved in criminal activity have been the subject of much public discussion, but social media users also seized on a lapse in judgment during her apology. She uttered the inaccurate term “backslash” rather than “backlash,” which has since gone viral, in an effort to allude to the public criticism she had received.
Adjoa Tee’s remarks have spurred more online debate regarding celebrity accountability and influence, particularly when it comes to issues of public perception and fraud.
