Following his court appearance today, March 14, Inspector Twumasi is once more in the news. The police inspector has insisted that he and Maadwoa had a platonic relationship, not an amorous one, as many people believe. Inspector Twumasi denied ever giving Maadwoa gifts when asked if he did so while the two of them were friends. However, he contradictorily stated that he once presented Maadwoa with 27 thousand Cedis. Examine the events that took place between him and the court; Inspector Twumasi has today, March 14 warned Maadwoa’s lawyer in court not to call him Taakum.
The police inspector claims Taakum is not his real name, hence, the need for the lawyer to quell the habit of calling him by that name.
This comes after the inspector appeared before the court today, March 14 following the inability of the court to complete its proceedings when they met on March 10.

Lawyer: As you stated in paragraph 4 of your evidence, the inspector never told you that they had found a pistol you used to kill the deceased at your home. Twumasi: My proof is accurate. (He was read paragraph 4 aloud) Lawyer: I want to assure you that no search was carried out in your absence. Twumasi: That’s not right. Lawyer: I’m also going to tell you that the investigator never made you give your statement under any kind of pressure. Twumasi: I was under duress
Lawyer: Now, I’m going to tell you that neither before the jury nor after you gave your statement to your investigator were you beaten by masked men. Twumasi: Yes, I was beaten. I got sick and coughed a lot after receiving numerous beatings.
Attorney: You’ve said that Victoria Dapaah was a friend of yours. Yes
Lawyer: Prior to April 20, 2023, how long have you known her? Twumasi: I Cannot tell
Attorney: Has it been more than two years? Twumasi: I’m not sure. Attorney: Is it longer than six months? Twumasi: I cannot tell

Twumasi: I’m not sure. Lawyer; I believe that you had a cordial relationship with her. Is that the situation? Twumasi: Yes
Lawyer: And you really liked her. Twumasi: I agree Lawyer: You used to give her gifts
Twumasi: I never gave her a gift. Lawyer: I am putting it to you that you were not giving her only gifts, but her sister too
Twumasi: It is not true. I made the decision to assist her based solely on Maadwoa’s instruction to do so. Lawyer: So you’ve given money to the deceased before? Twumasi: Yes, but she requested my assistance, which I did. Lawyer: You gave her a substantial amount of money. Is it not? Twumasi: I gave her some money, but it wasn’t much. Lawyer: The amount you gave her was 27k Cedis
Twumasi: The money was not a gift; she borrowed it from me. Lawyer: You were expecting her to pay back the loan because it was a loan, right?
Twumasi: I agree Lawyer: Then she refused to pay the money?
Twumasi: She didn’t tell me she wouldn’t pay. Lawyer: You were not happy that she was not paying the money for sometime
Twumasi: That is incorrect. Lawyer: I am putting it to you that you were not happy because you needed that money to go and pay rent for yourself
Twumasi: It is not true
Lawyer: I am stating to you that you and the deceased person had an amorous relationship. Twumasi: That’s not right. Lawyer: On the 20th of April 2023 she decided to end the relationship with you
Twumasi: It is not true, she was not my girlfriend
Lawyer: You therefore asked her to return the money that you had given her to you
Twumasi: It is not true
Lawyer: You decided to end her life because she refused to give you the money or continue the relationship with you. Twumasi: It is never true, I have said several that I have nothing to do with her death.
Lawyer: You shot the deceased, Maadwoa 6 times with your pistol
Twumasi: That’s not right. Lawyer: Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, also known as Taakum, I am putting it to you that your shooting of the deceased Maadwoa was what led her to her death
Twumasi: I am Ahmed Twumasi and not Taakum. Don’t use that name for me. You also called the deceased Mimi, is that the case?
