A part of Ghanaians has communicated shock over remarks made by a yet-to-be-distinguished NPP MP, who named Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, Klottey Korle MP and oldest little girl of the late former President Jerry Rawlings, as a daughter of a murderer” during parliamentary proceedings.
The episode happened in the House on Tuesday, fourth February, when members from both the Minority and Majority part sides were adding to an assertion remembering the 60th commemoration of the death of Dr Joseph Boakye (J.B.) Danquah.
The verbal trades started when the MP for Damongo, Samuel Abu Jinapor, added to the assertion, praising the late politician and ascribing Ghana’s popularity based progress and law and order to his vision and authority.
Nonetheless, accordingly, the MP for Tamale Focal, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, who sat close to Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, contradicted this statement and contended that Dr Danquah was a traitor and a CIA agent .
This started irate responses from NPP MPs, who whistled in objection while the
presiding Speaker, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, endeavored to reestablish order In the midst of the mayhem, a voice, accepted to be that of a NPP MP, was heard yelling,
“Murderers! Children of murderers!” multiple times, followed by a mocking laugh.

Barely a minute later, the same voice was again heard yelling, “Soviet and Russian spies! Murderers’ children!” After a moment of calm, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin took the floor to contribute to the statement. However, he was interrupted by the same voice shouting, “Daughter of a murderer, sit down!”—directed at Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings.
The incident has since sparked mixed reactions, with some members of the public expressing outrage, while others justify it by referencing previous cases.
