President John Dramani Mahama confirmed his administration’s commitments in its 120-day social contract, including implementing the 24-hour economy policy, in a national address, laying a solid foundation for his tenure.
”We made promises, and we have kept them. Our first 120 days have been defined by decisive action, a commitment to transparency, and a relentless focus on laying the foundation for building the Ghana we want.
The President of the Fourth Republic has appointed 56 ministers and deputies, the smallest by any president in the Fourth Republic. The local governance team is being formed, and several state agencies are implementing the 24-hour economy policy.
”The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre has launched 24-hour premium services to eliminate processing delays for investors. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced a 24-hour passport service, with the Passport Application Headquarters now operating 24/7”.
President Mahama mentioned ongoing investigations into corruption and high-profile graft cases, including the Sky Train saga, Sputnik V scandal, and the National Service Scheme ghost names scandal.
