The deadline for Ken Ofori-Atta’sreturnto the OSP wanted list is today.

The deadline for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to appear before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) expires today, June 2, 2025, and he runs the risk of being added to the OSP’s wanted list once more.

In relation to ongoing investigations into allegations of corruption and offenses related to corruption, the OSP had given Mr. Ofori-Atta until today to make his appearance. He might be listed as a fugitive from justice if he doesn’t comply.

The OSP threatened to put the former minister back on its wanted list if he did not respond to the summons in a statement released on March 17.

This came after Mr. Ofori-Atta filed a lawsuit in the Accra High Court on March 13th, claiming that the original declaration violated his fundamental rights and harmed his reputation.

He wants restitution and a court decision that the OSP violated the law.

On June 18, 2025, the Human Rights Court is anticipated to render a decision in the case.

A motion filed by former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta to prevent the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) from declaring him wanted, among other reliefs, has been postponed by the Human Rights Court until June 18, 2025.

Mr. Ofori-Atta was wanted for alleged corruption and related offenses involving five contentious transactions during the previous administration, according to Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng’s announcement on February 12, 2025.

The cases include the GRA-SML contract, the National Cathedral project, an ambulance spare parts deal, and the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) and Beijing Technology’s termination of a network improvement agreement.

After his legal team assured the OSP in a letter that he was willing to cooperate, he was taken off the wanted list on February 18.
