The NPP minority brings Sammy Gyamfi before CHRAJ, OSP, and CID over the dollar gift controversy.

The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service have been formally petitioned by the Minority Caucus in Parliament to look into the alleged $800 cash gift given to evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, also known as Nana Agradaa, by Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).

The Office of the President confirmed a decision to pardon Mr. Gyamfi after a severe warning, and the petition was filed less than twenty-four hours later.

But alhaji Nurudeen Mumuni, the Member of Parliament for Gambaga, told the media following the petition’s submission at CHRAJ’s offices in Accra on Thursday, May 15, that he was disappointed with the way the President handled the case.

”We are disappointed by the action of the President. We expected His Excellency to refer the matter to the appropriate investigative institutions for a thorough probe. But what did we witness? He cleared him without any investigation”.
